Water / Polymer Systems
Water is ubiquitous as an environment for polymers, whereas the full elucidation of interrelation among polymer structures, properties and high performances in aqueous systems (e.g., bio-systems) remains to be a long-standing challenge. At the same time, aqueous systems are now acknowledged for their importance against the environmental problems, and many application researches are undertaken to utilize the features of water. In this issue, we focused especially on the fundamental areas and related sciences by introducing some recent developments and topics. For the applied and industrial fields, another coming issue will be devoted.
