COVER STORY
Shape Control of Polymers
Remarkable progress has been made in the synthesis and structural analysis of polymers. These technologies have revealed correlations between polymers’ shapes and their physical properties and functions. Controlling polymer shapes is expected to lead to physical properties and functions that are not only precisely controlled, but also completely different from those of conventional linear polymers, despite having the same chemical composition. This special issue focuses on recent progress in the synthesis of such shape-controlled polymers, through noncovalent and covalent bonding approaches, and their physical properties and functions.
