COVER STORY
Polymers Support Electronic Devices
The current information society is supported by various electronic devices. These electronic devices consist of electronic components that are made of semiconductors. However, the devices cannot be made solely by the semiconductors, and many materials and technologies support the semiconductors in the devices. In this issue, we focus on polymers, which firmly support advanced electrical devices (although they cannot be directly seen by users). Various studies on manufacturing processes with polymers and polymer processing to control their properties for electric devices, from fundamental research to applications, are shown.
