COVER STORY
Nature of Macromolecules
A macromolecule is a long chain-like molecule, which has a large variety both inof the sequence of the monomer unit and the molecular conformation. Unique properties of polymer materials originate from the large degree of freedom of a single macromolecule. Recent developments inof polymer materials with various architecture indicates that the area of polymer materials is still expanding. For the further development of polymer materials with novel functions and high performance, it is a time to think about what makes a material a “polymer”. The current issue features the recent works dealing with the conformation/dynamics of a chain-like molecules and the properties/functions arising from the interaction among the macromolecules.
