COVER STORY
Polymers in Next Generation Batteries
No electricity, no life. Batteries are indispensable for our present daily life surrounded by various electrical products. In response to our demand, the development of new battery types has been remarkable, especially lithium ion batteries have had a great influence on the development of electric vehicles. In next-generation electricity generating devices such as new types of lithium-ion batteries and fuel cells, organic and polymer materials are used as separators and solid electrolytes, and research to solve the current problems has been conducted. This special issue introduces research related to electricity generating devices for the next generation involving organic and polymer materials.
