COVER STORY
Recycle: Responsible Consumption and Production
In this special issue, we will introduce the latest research on recycling of polymer materials other than simple thermal recycling or incineration, which will become a technology that will be required in the future, in response to the recent trend of the circular economy. This time, instead of solving problems with biodegradable polymers and new polymers, we focused on recycling technology for difficult to recycle general-purpose resins, which is expected to require immediate support. Although there are some technologies that have already been commercialized, such as material recycling of PET, many polymer materials are in the state of just being thermally recycled or incinerated.
