COVER STORY
Moderate Balance of “Precision” in Design of Polymers
Precision polymerization methodologies have challenged ultimate control of narrow distribution and stereoregularity, etc of polymer architectures. On the other hand, “polydisperse” block copolymers with wide distribution breadth and/or sequence gradience are newly designed, which aided in improved processability, superior viscoelasticity, unique phase behavior, and specific functions. Vitrimers also show unique dynamic bond exchange from the pre-designed polymer architectures. Self-assembly (stacking and orientation) of p-conjugated systems is variable with side chain designing. Slight disorders in moss eye structure enrich their performance. In this special issue, we will feature moderate balance of “Precision” on polymer materials design with such hidden ingredients.
