COVER STORY
State of the Art Research on DNA and RNA
The DNA double helix structure was identified and published in Nature by J. D. Watson and F. Crick in 1953, and 50 years later, the Human Genome Project was completed in 2003. We are about to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the completion of the Human Genome Project. In this special issue, while introducing cutting-edge research by top runners in the research on DNA and RNA, we also discuss the characteristics of DNA and RNA, which are the basis of the research, and the advanced technologies that use them. We clarify the results of DNA and RNA research over the last 20 years. Let’s think about the future science and technology.
