COVER STORY Polymers Supporting Our Convenience and Enrich Lives |
Polymer materials have contributed to making our daily lives convenient and enriching it greatly. They will be used even more in the future as indispensable materials, while taking sustainable resource use and environmental footprint into account. About 400 million tons of polymer materials are produced worldwide per year and most of them are “commodity plastics” that are easy to process, inexpensive and supplied in large quantities. This issue focuses on the fascination of the widely commercialized polymers once again. It reminds you of their excellent properties and applied fields as well as introduces recent topics on technical developments. Editors: ASADA, SHISHIDO, HAYANO, and HIGUCHI |
