COVER STORY Aggregation-Induced Functions: A Gift from Gathering |
| The molecules and polymers with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) property that exhibit fluorescence in the aggregated state are expected to be applied to solid-state light-emitting devices and stimuli-responsive fluorescent molecules. Since the topic of AIE is nominated in Thomson Reuters’ ranking No. 2 in 2015, the numbers of papers and researchers of AIE are still increasing. More recently, the concept of “aggregation-induced...” is not limited to AIE, and various aggregation-induced functional materials, such as aggregation-induced thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials and aggregation-induced photocatalytic materials, have emerged. In this issue, we will focus on such “aggregation-induced functions” of materials including small molecules, polymers and metal complexes. Editors: ISHIWARI, KAMIKAWA, NISHINA, MIYAMOTO, and MURAOKA |
