COVER STORY
Le Polymère – Polymers That Think
Present high-performance computers have led to evolution of advanced AI systems, which create a new research area such as materials informatics. Polymer materials support the development of computers by providing highly sensitive photo resists, which are key materials for miniaturization of silicon devices. On the other hand, as the limits of miniaturization are realized, research on computational processing based on new ideas such as DNA computing is developed. In these new computation methods, polymer materials do not only act as a supporting role but as a lead for computation and storage, which mimic our brains. In this special issue, we would like to introduce new research on computational processing from various approaches.
