COVER STORY Polymers for Green Transformation |
Green transformation (GX) promotes converting the industrial structures and socio-economics from conventional processes to green processes that do not generate greenhouse gases. The goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, which cannot be achieved under ordinary efforts. Paradigm shifts are needed, such as the structural transformations of the energy and industrial sector and the creation of innovation through an unprecedented amount of investment. The Japanese government has formulated a green growth strategy to transform the industrial structures and an economic society. This special issue features initiatives and ideas from industry, government, and academia on how polymer chemistry can contribute to GX. Editors: NISHINA, KAMIKAWA, SHISHIDO, TAKEDA, and S. NISHIMURA |
