Optoelectronic Properties of Conjugated Polymers
The optoelectronic properties of conjugated polymers are used in the development of various materials, some of which make our lives richer and more comfortable. For example, OLEDs are used in TVs and lighting as highly efficient thin displays. Organic solar cells are also making remarkable progress with the photoconversion efficiency about to reach 20%, due to the development of donor and acceptor materials and structural optimization of devices. Organic transistors have greatly exceeded the mobility of amorphous silicon, and research into their application as integrated circuits and sensors is underway. Furthermore, bio-imaging using the luminescence properties of conjugated molecules and polymers and research to develop new functions by controlling the morphology of conjugated polymers are also attracting attention.
