COVER STORY
Discerning (or Discernible) Molecular and Macromolecular Function Deduced from Twisting Structure
The introduction of a twist in molecular and macromolecular structure often produces chirality and leads to regioregular arrangement of functional groups, which result in a creation of fascinating functional materials with signal transduction, reaction, molecular recognition, and separation properties. Recently twisting conjugated backbones has attracted attention in terms of providing perturbation of their electronic structures. This special issue focuses on recent progress and perspectives of witty functions obtained from molecules and macromolecules with a twist.
