Cutting-Edge Science and Technology of Polymer
Characterization with Big Facilities
Innovation in analytical techniques often spurs novel research fields and/or furthers innovation. This is common awareness in the development of any science field. High-level equipment has recently become further advanced and more concentrated in big facilities, which cannot be managed by a laboratory or a university alone owing to budget constraints. These big facilities including SPring-8, J-PARC, and KEK-PF are open not only for specialists but also for young scientists of different fields. In this issue, cutting edge research topics are introduced by leading researchers in their respective fields that are using the latest techniques to observe polymeric materials.
