COVER STORY Techniques for Bonding and Debonding |
We have obtained the concept of adhesion since the bricks bonding by natural asphalt during the centuries B.C. Synthetic polymers made a leap development of adhesion technology possible, and nowadays adhesion technology is almost used in all fields. Although, adhesives are not major components of products, adhesives play an important role for reduction in size and weight, and multi-materialization. Recently, not only bonding properties but also dismantling properties are attracting much attention. We would like to introduce the cutting edge of adhesion technologies, which can be achieved by synthetic and highly sensitive analytic techniques together with the precise designs of polymers and surface treatments.
