COVER STORY Big Data and Databases |
Big data analysis has been widely used in various scenes in our social life. The accumulated databases of all kinds of knowledge are becoming important as an information asset. In recent years, with the rapid progress of information sciences, major changes have been made in the methods of material design and developments that conventionally relied on the experience, intuition, and imagination of chemists. In the future, information sciences will play an ever increasing important role for the design of polymers and their manufacturing processes. This issue features recent developments in materials informatics dealing with polymers and their functions. Editors: HOSONO, IWASAKI, SUGA, and MASHITA |
