COVER STORY Polymers for Beauty |
Human beings are instinctively attracted to beauty. Cosmetics is an example that put polymer to practical use by creating a sense of beauty. Starting with the use of biocompatible functional polymers and thickeners, polymer application has recently spread to fields that utilize polymer higher-order structure such as rheology, tribology, fiber technology, and surface structure control. We have seen efforts to create products that incorporate visual and tactile techniques. In the future, it is presumed that the use of polymers will expand even more due to its low environmental impact. This time, we will feature trends and the latest topics on the aesthetic sense using polymers, both in the basic academic field and practical technology fields. Editors: AKIYAMA, UOZU, SHIKINAKA, and HOSONO |
