COVER STORY
Cyber Polymer
Because the performance of supercomputers have been improved by the order of seven in these thirty years, the first principle calculation (quantum mechanics simulation) have become able to deal with thousands of atoms although it used to deal with a system of less than ten atoms. Furthermore, full-atom molecular dynamics as well as coarse-grained molecular methods have become able to simulate self-assembly orientation ordering of molecules. In these days, following the trend towards increased telework influenced by the novel corona virus pandemic, instead of carrying real experiments, cyber experiments (that is, computer simulations) are expected to improve the efficiency of research and development in each institution. So, this special issue helps readers to understand the simulation trend and new technologies that lead to future innovation.
