COVER STORY
Japan’s Role and International Collaboration in World Polymer Society
Since the proposal of polymers by Staudinger about 100 years ago, investigations on polymers have been actively conducted in the world. Polymers have a wide range of research fields from basic science to applications, and various polymer research is being carried out in each country according to their history, climate, environment, natural features, industry, education, and lifestyles of the people. In this special issue, researchers residing in different countries report on trends and issues in polymer research in their countries around the world, as well as the latest topics. In this way we will confirm Japan’s position and role in polymer research around the world, and deepen our understanding of how to promote international cooperation in the post-corona era.
