Front-Line of Analytical Techniques Supporting Polymer Sciences: Special Issue on Local Structure Analysis
Analytical techniques, which we thought we had learned the basics and had a general understanding of when we were students, have made great strides in the last 20 years. Even though we can update the equipment and methods used in our area of expertise daily, catching up in areas slightly outside of our profession takes work. The Society of Polymer Science, Japan provides a comprehensive summary of various analytical techniques essential for polymer research on its website*). In this issue, we feature recent advances in state-of-the-art local structure analysis techniques that have reached maturity and will be possible to be used routinely soon. We hope your research develops in new directions by incorporating analytical techniques that have not been applied before in your field.
