COVER STORY
Advanced Polysaccharide Engineering |
A large amount of polysaccharides is incessantly produced by photosynthetic
processes in plants. Human beings have extensively used them as an indispensable
life resource. Recently, polysaccharides and their derivatives are of growing
interest as various functional materials in the fields of recycling stock,
biomass, bioprocesses, green chemistry, food industry and biomedicals.
This special issue presents advanced polysaccharide material science and
engineering for the futurity of the industry.
(Editors: AKIYOSHI, TSUJII, HAMACHI, and MIYATA)
