COVER STORY Tackle the Folding of Polymers |
Folding of biopolymers into a specific geometry is the essential process to realize their sophisticated functions. While understanding of the folding mechanism has been regarded as an important issue in biology, there remain some important unexplored subjects related to folding from the viewpoint of polymer science. For example, control of folding under in vitro environments as well as realization of refolding by synthetic polymers, are both attracting growing interest. In this edition, we highlight the “folding of polymers”, by covering the current and prospective topics related to folding of natural and synthetic polymers.
