COVER STORY Exploring Polymers with Cutting-Edge Visualization Techniques |
“One Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”: Accurate visualization is becoming more and more important for deeper understanding of structures and dynamics of polymers. Recent advances in the technologies of various microscopy, synchrotron radiation, and neutron beams allow us to precisely “observe” not only structures but also interactions of polymer chains from single molecule to complex and higher-order entities. In addition, integration of these visualization techniques with large & multi-scale simulations can provide new insights into polymer physics. In this edition, we introduce a variety of cutting-edge visualization techniques and their applications to explore functions of polymeric materials. (Editors: H. YOSHIDA, FUKUSHIMA, and YOKOYAMA) |
