COVER STORY
Thermal Management Polymer
The high performance of the CPU and the power devices such as IGBT demands a high electrical power and generates substantial heat. As a result, improvements in cooling materials of the electric and the electronic device are much needed. Polymers are mainly used as good insulating materials, but they have quite low thermal conductivities. Recently, novel material design to improve the thermal conductivity of polymers in itself by controlling the higher order structure, have been developed. In this issue, we focused on thermal management polymers and their measurement technologies.
