Welcome Letter

It is my honor to serve as the chair of the 19th Pacific Polymer Conference (PPC19) held at Kitakyushu International Conference Center & AIM (Asia-Pacific Import Mart) at Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan from July 6-10, 2025. PPC19 is organized by The Society of Polymer Science Japan (SPSJ) in collaboration with the Pacific Polymer Federation (PPF). SPSJ was founded in 1951. The Pacific Polymer Conference (PPC) is a series of Polymer Conferences by PPF. PPF was founded in 1989. The PPF consists of fifteen member organizations. Three founding members are organizations from Australia, Japan and USA. The first PPC was held in Maui, Hawaii, USA. The SPSJ organized the 2nd and 10th PPC conferences in 1991 and 2007 in Otsu and Kobe, respectively. Since 1991, the PPC conferences were held by nine organizations. These PPC conferences have played very important roles in promoting the activities of polymer science and engineering, and international communications and collaborations.

The organizing committee of PPC19 has assembled nine general sessions (G1-G9) and three special sessions (S1-S3): G-1: Polymer Synthesis and Reactions, G-2: Supramolecular Polymers and Self-assembly of Polymers, G-3: Structure and Physical Properties of Polymers, G-4: Polymer Surface and Interface, G-5: Polymer Simulation and Informatics, G-6: Polymer Hybrid and Composite Materials, G-7: Polymer Processing, Engineering, 3D Printing, G-8: Polymers for Optics, Electronics and Energy, G-9: Bio-functional and Biomedical Polymers, S-1: Polymers for Sustainability and Environment, S-2: Water and Polymers, S-3: Polymer Gels. It is our great pleasure that about 1,000 polymer scientists and engineers have registered for the conference. We have 7 Plenary lectures, 81 Invited talks, 380 Contributed talks, and 350 Poster presentations.

As the president of the council of PPF, I would like to thank all of participants, sponsors, supporters, the organizers of PPC19, and the fellow of councilors of PPF. We really hope all of the participants enjoy the conference with new and old friends and obtain inspiration of new ideas in polymer science and engineering for the sustainable development of societies.
